Withthe society’s increasing concern on listed companies’ fulfillment of corporate socialresponsibilities, government agencies and regulators at all levels are payingmore attention to the disclosure of social responsibility information of listedcompanies. While at the same time, external evaluation has become an importantfactor in the non-financial information disclosure and transparent operation oflisted companies.

The 3^rdChina (Shanghai) Listed Companies Corporate Social Responsibility Summit &the Press Conference for Shanghai ListedCompany Corporate Social Responsibility Blue Book, were jointly hosted by ShanghaiAssociation for Listed Companies, China Business News and Shanghai Federationof Economic Organizations on December 28. Shanghai Bureau of the China SecuritiesRegulatory Commission and Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions provided guidanceon this Summit. More than 200 people from government departments, well-knownenterprises, and mainstream media as well as industry experts attended the Summit.Goals of the Summit were to improve enterprise transparency, help investorsmake the right investment decisions, enhance enterprise reputation and thereforeachieve a better market performance.

Among the 232Shanghai listed companies includedin this year’s assessment, 153 were rated 1-star and 2-star in “CSR Index forListed Companies”, 51 were rated 3-star, 22 were rated 4-star and 6 were rated5-star. Shanghai Belling was recognized as a four-star enterprise in 2017Shanghai CSR Development Index for Listed Companies, ranking the 20^thamong 232 candidate companies. The ranking moved up over the previous year andthis reflected the regulatory agencies, the media and the market’s affirmationand recognition of the Company’s social CSR efforts and CSR reports.
